With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, many people feel the obligation to be thankful. But feeling thankful does not have to be reserved for once a year, and we should really all try to be more thankful everyday, and here’s how.
When you are in a bad mood or feeling negative, you’re more likely to hate on things rather then show your gratitude. By thinking more positive, you can fully appreciate certain aspects of your life more.
Showing Your Thanks, Not Just Saying It
Sure, it’s easy to say “I’m thankful for____”, but what about showing it? If you’re thankful for a certain person in your life, maybe show them that with a card or a hug. The act of doing something to show your thanks will more fully cement your feeling of thankfulness.
Think of Even The Smallest Things
Even the smallest of things you can be thankful for. It’s not always about the big stuff. Some days I am thankful I have a shirt that smells like fresh laundry or that I got to pet a cat that day. Your thanks doesn’t have to be earth shattering.
Ask others what they are thankful for. Maybe they have a perspective on something that you may not have considered before. And it will spread more gratitude around fr others to enjoy.
