It never hurts to do some reading before you start college or during to help you figure everything out. Blogs do this well, but there are also some great books out there that cover content clearly, so I am giving you three of my favorite.
The Ultimate Undergraduate Guide to Graduation is a workbook that helps you succeed in both school and after as well by telling you skills you will benefit from having. It also contains a 100 item “bucket list” of things to do while in college. Jullien Gordon is a college graduate with his masters who gives talks (like this Ted Talk) that talks about this generation of college students. He is great, and wrote a great book that you can get on Amazon.
The Her Campus Guide To College Life is a great guide to making the most of college and staying safe and healthy while doing it. It is great at any time you may need, whether you’re a new freshman or a seasoned upperclassmen. The wide array of authors help give multiple perspectives, which is nice because not every situation can be handled in one way. You can find the book on Amazon.
The UChic book is the first book I bought before my freshmen year, and I read it cover to cover. I loved it so much that I gave it to my BFF when she graduated high school as a gift. It covers so much and has excerpts from various ladies who share their stories. It also summarizes sections with key points at the end so you can remember the important parts and find them easily. It has also been updated, so it contains new info from the previous ones for our every changing world. It can be found at Amazon.
