This fall, Meryl Streep, Carey Mulligan, and Helena Bonham Carter will star in Suffragette, a historically-based film about women fighting for the right to vote in the U.K.

Helena Bonham Carter, Carey Mulligan, and Meryl Streep play leading roles in the Women’s Suffrage Movement in the UK  as they fought for the right to vote. An important piece of history, the film is inspired by real events, which, based on the trailer, got violent at times.

This movie is very important for many different reasons. First of, it is documenting an important part of the history of women’s rights that many people, particularly younger people, might not know exists. Also, if it a lot of people attend on open weekend, it will make a great profit which will encourage other films with strong female leads about strong women. It’s clear that someone out there is willing to make a movie about these moments and people, and powerful actors want to be involved, so we, as audience members, need to go see these movies if we want to see them in the future.

Oh wow! I’m sure I’ll end up watching on Blu Ray or Netflix because I just can’t cough of the money on a movie ticket her. They are sky rocketing, but that does look like it will be an amazing film!!

This was such a good post! I am so unbelievably excited for this film. When I first watched the trailer it gave me goosebumps. We are so lucky that our feminism foremothers gave us the vote.

It certainly does look amazing and I am really looking forward to seeing all the talented actress in it. Carey Mulligan is my favourite!
